Setting up Exchange email on your iPad

Note: This article requires the user to know their email user name and password. The user may also need the exchange server address. If the user does not know, does not have access to, or is having problems with any of this information they may need to speak with one of the ingenuIT consultants regarding the setup of the account.

1. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange.

2. Enter the following information:

Email: Your full Email address (e.g. billg@company.com).
Domain: This is usually the “company” part of billg@company.com.
Username: Your Exchange Username. This is the usually the same username that you use to log into your computer. If this does not work enter your Exchange domain (e.g. “company\billg”).
Password: Your Exchange Password. This is usually the same password that you use to log into your computer.
Description: What you wish to call this account.

3. Tap “Next” and the iPad will now try to locate your Exchange Server. If necessary, you will need to enter your Exchange Server's complete address in the Server field. The server name is usually mail.yourcompany.com.

4. Tap “Next” and the iPad will verify the configuration.

5. By default, the iPad will synchronize all three data types (Mail, Contacts, and Calendars) with your Exchange server, but you can turn one or more off if you wish.
